Our Book of Magikal Thoughts

No one knows better than a witch how powerful words can be. We have found some of our favorite poems, thoughts, and even bumper stickers that will place a smile on your face or a tear in your eye. One of my college professors once told me that if you can create an emotional response from someone by them simply reading something you wrote, then you have found the real magic. Some of these listed are well known to all pagans and people of like mind, some may not be, we thought that they needed to be represented at our site for they are indeed magikal.

Can you imagine?
By Robert F. Potts
Can you imagine a world without without witches?
A world with all people the same?
Where the only known dragons are hiding in books,
And children are terribly tame?
A world without magic would be sad indeed.
I cannot imagine the pain.
Of having a world where there's no Santa Claus
Where wizards are dreamed of in vain.
Can you imagine a world with spells?
That science and business run?
And think of the sadness a unicorn feels
When he no longer plays in the sun.
Can you imagine a world with out witches?
No elves, and no magical pools?
And can you imagine how dull it would be
If all that we had were the schools?
I cannot imagine a world without witches,
A world with no magical wand.
A world without beauty, or even a dream.
Or a wood sprite of whom to be fond.
They say I should grow up and be more mature,
Like a normal adult ought to do.

The Dead Man's Drum
Author unknown
Let's dance to the beat of a dead man's drum
The dance of times long past
When freedom held sway at the dawn of each day
And circles of magick were cast.
The drum beats in time with the Great Mothers heart,
Its rhythm felt in the earth
The beat of the drum resounds in all things:
And is found in the womb during birth.
Lets dance to the beat of the dead mans drum
When darkness hides us from sight.
Of others whose pride grows hatred inside
Hearts thought to be filled with divine holy light
In our sacred spaces away from the faces
Of those like our forefathers past
Who slaughtered their mothers and sisters and brothers
In the name of God's love
Whence the first stone was cast.
Let's dance to the beat of the dead mans drum
And remember those we have lost.
For burning is past while the memories last
Of the innocent who paid for the cost
As long as we dance to the beat of the drum,
And harbor not hatred and lies
The message lives on, the beat remains strong and
The dead man, in truth, never dies.

Title Unknown

Long ago and far away
We worked by night and hid by day
We could not in the open go
Because the church did fear us so
They feared us for our power was true
Because our magick they could not do
And so they cried with evil smirk
Let's burn then all - 'tis Devils work!
And burned they did, and torture too
But still we managed to come through
And so today our path is free
To worship Lord and the Lady
We work our rites just as old
Now in the open, free and bold
We did not change or go away
We tell the world:
WE ARE HERE TO STAY!
